Scriptures on Work/Job/Occupation/Unemployment

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to. (1 Corinthians 7:24)

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. (1 Corinthians 12:5)

There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. (1 Corinthians 12:6)

Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. (Romans 15:17)

Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load. (Galatians 6:4-5)

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. (Proverbs 23:4)

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.  (Proverbs 14:23)

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the son of Man will give you. (John 6:27)

As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. (John 9:4)
